A Shared Commitment to Health: Highlights from Our Free Heart Health Fair Outreach with the Festac Town Muslim Community (FTMC)
Heart disease rarely announces itself. It often hides behind busy routines, family responsibilities, and the familiar belief that “I’m fine.”
Madam Abiye’s story is one of many. A joyful mother preparing for her son’s wedding is suddenly gone. Years earlier, her blood pressure had been dangerously high, yet, like so many people she continued pushing through life’s demands. Her passing is a painful reminder that ignoring our health does not make the danger disappear; it only delays the consequences.
At Victory Drugs, we believe that quality healthcare should be accessible to everyone. Guided by this commitment, we recently partnered with the Festac Town Muslim Community (FTMC) Central Body to host a Free Heart Health Fair Outreach at the Oba Bi Olorun Kosi Jumat Centre in Festac Town, Lagos.
Built on years of collaboration with healthcare professionals and community leaders, the outreach brought residents together for a day dedicated to preventive care, wellness, and practical health education.
Cardiovascular diseases, though largely preventable and treatable, remain the leading cause of disability and death worldwide, and Nigeria continues to feel the impact. Our goal was simple: ‘to empower individuals with knowledge, early detection, and actionable steps to protect their hearts.’
Participants received a wide range of free health services delivered by experienced professionals, helping them understand their health status and make informed decisions. It was a day of learning, connection, and renewed commitment to healthier living.
