Hydrogen Peroxide is a versatile disinfectant and antiseptic solution that can be used to clean and disinfect a variety of surfaces, including cuts, scrapes, and minor wounds. It is also effective in killing bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
- As a mouthwash: To half a tumbler of water, add one tablespoonful of hydrogen peroxide solution BP and use frequently.
- To remove dressing from wounds: Hydrogen peroxide solution should be diluted with an equal volume of water and the dressing should be soaked with it. Leave it for a few minutes before removal.
- As first aid: To treat cuts, wounds, and abrasions, Hydrogen Peroxide solution should be diluted with an equal volume of water and then applied on cotton wool or lint to arrest bleeding and disinfect the tissue. Lightly, fix dressing in place with a bandage or strip plaster adhesive.
